Mr. Nelson N. Jacinto

ESL Self-Contained Teacher

The decision to become a teacher was influenced by personal experiences, guiding mentors, and a profound understanding of education's importance inspiring me to become a compassionate, dedicated teacher. My path was guided by a desire to help others succeed and the belief that education shapes both academic and personal growth. As a 9th-grade advisor, I have witnessed my students excel, developing confidence, joy, and a sense of belonging.

A significant factor was the positive impact my educators had on me. As a student, there was a high school French teacher, who consistently encouraged me, igniting a passion for learning. Volunteer positions in coaching and advising further reinforced my desire to teach, highlighting the impact of guiding students through challenges.

My greatest contributions are reflected in my students' success. I employ differentiated instruction, formative assessments, and targeted interventions to meet diverse needs, leading to high exam scores and increased confidence. I empower students to reach their full potential—academically, socially, and emotionally—by building a classroom culture of trust, respect, and collaboration. My classroom is a safe space where students feel heard, valued, and supported. I meet students where they are, fostering resilience and a growth mindset. Fostering a sense of community is also vital, and I have organized team-building events to create an inclusive environment. I am committed to making learning engaging and joyful, hosting themed events and extracurricular activities to motivate students. Sincerity, fairness, and tailored feedback are central to my teaching philosophy, building trust and respect in the classroom.

In conclusion, my journey to teaching is shaped by past educators' positive impact, a desire to make a difference, and a commitment to academic success, community building, and joyful learning. I strive to be a role model and advocate, empowering students to achieve their goals.

Ms. Alyse N. Augustine

Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant

Growing up, I was fortunate to have many amazing teachers and coaches in school who inspired me. I want to do the same for my students and provide positive, lifelong memories for the next generation.
After spending years in the classroom, I wanted to continue my career and support and help students succeed, just from a different lens. Seeing the potential in every student, regardless of their learning style, is what continues to motivate me.

In this position, I have the opportunity to work with everyone in the building. Working alongside teachers, our students have created a coffee cart, Autism breakfast, and Thanksgiving luncheon for both staff and students, just to name a few! I am able to help create connections both in school and with the community, for the students and families to be successful not only in school but out. I love that I am able to create relationships with teachers and staff in all content areas and collaborate to support both students and staff.
