Ms. Kimberly Jane Schmalz-Berman

Art Teacher

I have always loved art and creating since I was very young. Some of my favorite school memories are of creating art in my art classes from Kindergarten into Highschool. It was a time for me to relax and enjoy myself and I always looked forward to it. I love working with young children and I feel very fortunate to be able to combine working with them and teaching them art. I try very hard to create a calm and happy environment for them and I enjoy presenting them with new art ideas and materials to experiment with.

I feel that children learn best in a positive and encouraging environment and I try to bring that to each of my students during art classes. I know they all can succeed in their own way with positive reinforcement and kindness. I always try to show my students that I am happy to see them do well and that I care about their feelings and wellbeing. I believe that this has a big impact on how they do in my art classes and I hope that positive feeling about art stays with them throughout their lives.

Ms. Cindie Anapolsky

Child Development Associate

My first exposure to working with children began when I was a babysitter during my early teenage years. Later I worked for our local YMCA in their summer preschool program. Finally, my original major was in education. After I graduated I was lucky to have the opportunity to put into practice what I enjoyed doing and what I learned from my college courses. Working with young children here at school 52.

I am responsible for getting the students unpacked, and I check for any notes or homework to give to the teacher. During the day I guide the children through different activities, combining education and fun. I feel my strengths are always acknowledging each student individually though empathy. I feel I make the most important impact on the students by always being consistent.
