Dear Parents and Guardians:

The safety and wellbeing of all members of the Elizabeth Public Schools learning community is our top priority.

Please be informed that George Washington Academy School No. 1, iPrep Academy School No. 8, Jerome Dunn Academy School No. 9, and School No. 9 Annexes A and B were placed in a shelter-in-place this morning at the recommendation of the Elizabeth Police Department due to police activity in the area. The lockdown measure was taken as a safety precaution for students and team members.

Following the shelter-in-place recommendation, we received guidance from the Elizabeth Police Department that the security measure could be lifted and all affected schools could resume their normal operating schedules.
