Dear Colleague,
Are your students thinking about or preparing for college? Encourage them to explore a major or a career by attending the University of Rochester’s Pre-College Programs! Students will get a taste of the college experience, take classes, and spend time being immersed in other cultures.
Your students will join other high school students from around the world, foster respect for different cultures and experience unique perspectives. Students can take credit bearing classes or participate in our non-credit courses in business, engineering, medicine, and the humanities.

NYU Precollege gives rising juniors and seniors the unparalleled opportunity to spend their summer experiencing academics at NYU. For six dynamic weeks, high schoolers can take online college-level courses for credit, develop their essay-writing skills, and learn how to manage their time, all while connecting with NYU Precollege and undergraduate students from around the world.
Applications for NYU Precollege Summer 2021 are open!Here’s how your students will benefit from the NYU Precollege program:
- They can road test courses aligned with their potential major or explore a new subject while earning college credit that can be applied toward their future degree.
- Direct access to NYU’s award-winning faculty and prominent guest lecturers gives students an opportunity to learn from and build relationships with leading thinkers and change makers.
- Through College 101, students can familiarize themselves with the college admissions process, boost their college readiness, and jump-start their college search.
Our summer 2021 NYU Precollege program runs from July 5 to August 13. For scholarship consideration, students should apply well before the deadline, April 1, 2021.

In addition to NYU Precollege, students can choose from other high school programs offered throughout the year at NYU. Students can explore music technology at the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, STEM research at the Tandon School of Engineering, and more. Summer Pre-College Programs in the Fine Arts
Dear Jecenia,
Carnegie Mellon's Pre-College Programs in the fine arts are six-week residential experiences that provide high school students with the opportunity to develop their skills in a conservatory or studio setting. For years, Carnegie Mellon has been recognized for the quality of education that is provided within our College of Fine Arts. Through the Pre-College program, high school students have access to this instruction and mentorship from full-time faculty members.
Our summer Pre-College program options in the fine arts include the following:- Architecture, provides students architectural experience within the studio, supported by integrated coursework in analog drawing, digital media, seminars and workshops.
- Art, where students will hone their craft through challenging courses, critique, workshops, and portfolio development.
- Design, for students who would like to receive a foundation of Design skills through studio learning, lectures, and critiques.
- Drama, for students who would like to build their audition repertoire and portfolio with acclaimed faculty.
- Music, where students participate in a conservatory-style curriculum and experience life within a research university.
