Minutemen Claimed King of the North over Ridgewood

The state tournament run of the Elizabeth Minutemen continues all the way to the Group 4 final with a 58-54 victory over North 1, Group 4 champion Ridgewood in the North1/North2 Group 4 semifinal at the Thomas G. Dunn Sports Center.

The Minutemen claimed King of the North over Ridgewood for the second time in three years by again getting out to a first quarter lead and maintaining it through the final three quarters. London Carson fueled Elizabeth’s attack with 18 points and 10 rebounds while North 2, Group 4 finals hero Christopher Clark stepped up again with a solid all-around game of 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three blocks. Siraj Abdellah dished out eight assists, including some that let to important scores to stay ahead in the fourth quarter, to go along with four points, three rebounds, and three steals. Cameron McCrae (8 points), Jordan Torres (5 points), Jayden Johnson (5 points), and Kareem Anthony Jr. (4 points) also contributed to the Minutemen offense.

The Minutemen will face Lenape, the top seeded team in South Jersey, for the Group 4 title at Rutgers University’s Jersey Mike’s Arena in New Brunswick on Saturday, March 9 at 4:30 pm. Elizabeth will attempt to claim their second Group 4 championship in three years after winning their first group title since 1991 with a 70-63 win over Marlboro in 2022.
