Elizabeth Public Schools celebrated the Thomas Jefferson Arts Academy graduating Class of 2023 commencement and class awards ceremony at the Thomas G. Dunn Sports Center on June 26. Among the speakers and attendees at the ceremony were Elizabeth Mayor J. Christian Bollwage, Assemblywoman Annette Quijano, Senator Raymond Lesniak, Union County Commissioner Lourdes Leon, NAACP Elizabeth Chapter President Shawn McClain, Elizabeth Board of Education President Iliana Chevres, Elizabeth Board of Education member Stanley Neron, EPS Superintendent Olga Hugelmeyer, EPS Assistant Superintendent Judy Finch Johnson, EPS Director of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Michael Ojeda, Jefferson Arts Academy Principal Dr. Mona Wanis, class valedictorian Brittney Cabezas, and class salutatorian Anthony Bolton.
