Board President Chevres Visits Division Food & Nutrition Services

Elizabeth Board of Education President Chevres visited the Division of Food and Nutrition Services in the latest stop on her President’s Tour. Board President Chevres spoke with members of Food Services about trainings that have taken place within the Division, including food handling ( ServSafe) and how to create new menu options as well as new healthy breakfast option, larger portions, daily additional hot and cold sandwich options with signage showing the final product, and salad bars varieties at the high schools. She also spent time with Food Services members reviewing the Department of Defense produce program, the Department of Agriculture commodities monthly offerings, the lunch program application process, menus creation and daily offerings following breakfast and lunch state requirements, and ordering procedures to all vendors.
