This is a message from your Elizabeth Public Schools.
The Elizabeth Police Department has informed the school district of a shooting that took place on Third Street this afternoon. The shooter has not yet been apprehended and, as a result, the EPD has recommended that Schools 1, 8, 9, 13, 20, and 52 enter into lockdown procedures. Parent-teacher conferences scheduled for this afternoon at these schools have been cancelled. These schools will remain inaccessible while the lockdown procedure is in place.
As we continue to work with the Elizabeth Police Department, we will provide an update when more information is made available and when the lockdown procedure is concluded.
Thank you for your continued support.
YALITZA TORRES, Principal
