Youth and City Government Day is a special event that introduces students of the Elizabeth Public Schools community to the daily operations of its municipal government and the board of education. Students get partnered with members of City Government and the Board of Education and spend time shadowing them, going on a city tour and participating in a City Council session.  Several students spent time at the Mitchell building shadowing and learning about its daily operations with district leadership. In addition, the Youth of the Year is selected at this event. We would like to congratulate Ahmad Faisal Afzali, senior at John E. Dwyer Technology Academy for getting selected for Elizabeth’s Youth of the Year Award.  We also would like to thank all the city officials and EPS leadership who have provided our students with this special experience and congratulations and best wishes to our student participants in all their future endeavors.
