Laptop Distribution for Families of Students in Grades PK-K-1-2-3 Only
    Dear School No. 27 Families,
    Laptops will be available for pick up at the front entrance of School 27 on the following days between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
    •    Grade 3- Monday, August 31st
    •    Grade 2- Monday, August 31st
    •    Grade 1 - Tuesday, September 1st
    •    Kindergarten - Wednesday September 2nd

    Laptops will only be given to an adult with proper identification.  Laptops will not be given to older siblings.  Parents will need to provide their child’s first name, last name, and ID number as they appear in PowerSchool.  More information will be posted once we have the devices for PreK. Thank you for your continued cooperation.

  • First Ladies Pinning Ceremony

    The First Ladies of Jerome Dunn Academy School No. 9 was established in October of 2015. Ms. Jasmine Lee, Professional School Counselor at School No. 9, facilitates the program. The overall goal of the program is to increase self-efficacy by exploring identity based around five factors (ie: creative self, coping self, physical self, social self and essential self.)

    Admiral William F. Halsey, Jr. Health and Public Safety Academy, along with Future Cities Inc., will host the virtual panel discussion Safe Spaces and Places For Teens: Our Neighborhood Parks and Playgrounds on Friday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m.

  • EBOE Declares Racism a Public Health Crisis

    At the Elizabeth Board of Education meeting on September 17, the Board unanimously passed a resolution asserting that racism is a public health crisis affecting our entire country and supporting all additional efforts in Elizabeth, Union County, the State of New Jersey, and nationwide to address racism and public health disparities due to racial inequities.

  • Amistad Collaborative Progress Report

    The Amistad Bill (A1301), which became law in 2002, calls on New Jersey schools to incorporate African and African American history into their social studies curriculum. Since 2002, the Elizabeth Public Schools (EPS) has developed, revised, and executed curricula in Social Studies and Language Arts that demonstrates that Africans and African Americans have played and continue to play a foundational role in the establishment, growth, and expansion of the United States.
