Multicultural Festival 2023
On June 15th, 2023, the Bilingual/ESL Department debuted the first EPS Multicultural Festival at Juan Pablo Duarte-José Julián Martí School No. 28. The festival celebrated diversity and multiculturalism by showcasing student work from each of our schools. Each EPS school represented a country and participated by making real-life landscapes, colorful posters, displaying student artwork, having bite-sized samples of their country’s cuisine, implementing real-life activities and games, and much more. Various local agencies were also in attendance to share important information about the resources and services they provide to families. In addition, local food trucks were able to provide delicious eats to match the diversity of the event. The Festival also included a piano performance of a multicultural melody. Families were able to visit each country, agency, and food truck with a “passport” to explore all the different areas of the Festival. With over 400 attendees, the Festival brought together friends and families to embrace and celebrate the beautiful diversity in our community.
