Girls Middle School Basketball Plays a Scrimmage at Halftime of the Rutgers Basketball Game

The Elizabeth Board of Education along with Elizabeth City Council Councilwoman-At-Large Patricia Perkins-Auguste and Elizabeth Board of Education Vice President and City of Elizabeth Recreation Director Stanley Neron dished out an assist by providing the members of all three Elizabeth Public Schools middle school girls basketball teams the opportunity to attend and play at halftime of the Rutgers vs Minnesota women’s basketball game at Jersey Mike’s Arena. Members of the North, South and Central girls basketball teams competed in front of Rutgers and Minnesota fans as well as family members and friends. The girls were able see two Division 1 teams compete and root for Jersey’s own Scarlet Knights while experiencing the feeling of playing on the court of a major college basketball program in front of a large number of fans!! We hope to see some of our girls competing at this level one day and thank Councilwoman-At-Large Patricia Perkins-Auguste, Board Vice President Stanley Neron, and the entire Elizabeth Board of Education for helping make this unique experience possible
