Elmora School No. 12’s WE Project for the 2018-2019 school year

This morning, Elmora School No. 12’s 4th Grade students with their teachers; Mrs. Walp, Mrs. Duda and Mrs. Henkel hand delivered a check in the amount of $9,418.36 cents to the President, Tom Wetherall, of The Make a Wish Foundation in Monroe, New Jersey!

Elmora School No. 12’s WE Project for the 2018-2019 school year is for the “Make A Wish Foundation” in New Jersey.

This program allows students pre-k through 8th to help create life changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.  This project coincides nicely with our Character Education Program.

This school wide WE Project started in February with an assembly where 4th Grade students presented an informational program about the value of community service.   Students also sang songs related to fundraising,  including,  “100 Ways to Fill Someone’s Bucket,” written by students and teachers at school 12 which coincides with School 12’s theme, “How Full is Your Bucket?”

A painted castle is displayed in the main hallway as a resemblance of the Make a Wish Castle as a daily reminder of our cause.   It is so heartwarming to see students put in their dollar bills and loose change every day.

Students were told today from President Wetherall that through our generous donation a child’s wish will be granted. He will contact School 12 this summer to give us the child’s name and the specific wish the child was granted.

What a wonderful life experience for our students!
