Dear Elizabeth Public Schools Team Members:

Thanksgiving is a holiday during which we reflect on our lives and find gratitude in the many blessings bestowed upon us. In reflecting upon the past couple years, life has certainly felt a roller coaster, alternating between feelings of happiness and sorrow as well as moments of success and setbacks. The 2021-2022 school year has already been a school year that will be remembered for generations to come in the manner in which we successfully welcomed back the vast majority of our school community to in-person learning as well as the tragedy and hardships that have taken place as a result of the ongoing pandemic and storm damage inflicted by Hurricane Ida.

During this school year and throughout these unprecedented and challenging times the past couple years, we have shown our resilience in overcoming the obstacles that have been placed in front of us. Our ability to rise above the adversity has been made possible because we continue to work together, for one another, towards our standard of excellence. Each and all of you understand the strength you possess to make a difference and have gone to tremendous lengths to make powerful contributions to our Elizabeth Public Schools family and to your families at home.

As we approach this Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to take this time to thank you once again for all that you do and all that you give to allow our students to realize their dreams and our schools to reach their greatest potential. My appreciation and gratitude for your devotion to our students and your commitment to our learning community is greater than my words could possibly express.

Warmest wishes for a safe and healthy Thanksgiving that allows you and your loved ones to reflect upon the cherished memories and blessings you have experienced together as you enjoy each other’s company.

Please stay safe, be well, and God bless you all.

Sincerely,
Olga Hugelmeyer
