Frances C. Smith Early Childhood Center School No. 50

Frances C. Smith Early Childhood Center School No. 50

Mr. Angel Santiago

Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

The teachers I grew up with in the Elizabeth Public Schools encouraged and inspired me to pursue education and give back to the community that I grew up in. They were there for me emotionally as well as academically and I experienced firsthand the impact a great teacher could have on the lives of their students. I wanted to be a part of that in some small way.

I believe a teacher has the potential to be a confidant, a role model, a mentor, a counselor, and a caring, loving member of the community that impacts real change on a micro level. I can humbly and confidently say that my students feel seen, respected, and cared for when they enter my classroom. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing my students again several years after they leave preschool and have had the experience of being fondly remembered and appreciated by them.

Ms. Yenia Sotolongo

Child Development Associate

I love working with kids and enjoy assisting our students in the learning process whenever they need me.

My classroom responsibilities include supporting the teacher and the children from the moment they enter to the end of the day and helping with all activities throughout the day.
