Save the Music Foundation
For the last week of October, Nicholas LaCorte School No. 3 participated in their first music program featuring the Save the Music Foundation. This program was offered through a grant that was applied for over the summer in support of the schools band programs. The intro to music grant, serves public elementary schools that are establishing general music programs in urban communities. After careful consideration, Ms. Chiho Feindler, Save the Music’s Senior Director of Programs and Policy contacted our district as she was scouting many eligible communities in Union County. After careful selection, Elizabeth once again came out on top.
The Save the Music Foundation will provide $22, 000 in instruments and supplies over the next few years and will provide a certified music teacher to oversee the program within these schools for 45 minutes each week to establish good foundations of playing an instrument. We cannot wait to see the final product at the end of the year performance open to the public.
