State and County Officials Visit EPS Summer Programs

Newly appointed Assistant Commissioner of the Division of Field Services from the New Jersey Department of Education, Dr. Jorden Schiff, along with Union County Superintendent Daryl Palmieri, County Education Specialist at New Jersey Department of Education Maria Mendez, and County Supervisor of Child Study Tania Mongioi, visited Dr. Albert Einstein Academy School No. 29 and Chessie Dentley Roberts Academy School No. 30 to visit Elizabeth Public Schools’ summer programs. The first stop was at School No. 29 where the group observed the Transition Program For Ells In K-1 and ESL Enrichment programs, followed by a trip to School No. 30 to visit the Special Education and Related Services Extended School Year (ESY).

Among those representing Elizabeth Public Schools at the visits to the two locations were Superintendent of Schools Olga Hugelmeyer; School Business Administrator/Board Secretary Harold E. Kennedy, Jr.; Assistant Superintendents Dr. Jennifer Cedeño, Rafael A. Cortes, Jr., and Judy Finch-Johnson; Director of Bilingual & ESL Education Dr. Sandra S. Nunes; Director of Early Childhood Tracy Crosby; Director of Special Services Diana Pinto-Gomez; Director of Staff Development and Innovative Programs Dr. Kathleen Badalis; Director of Food and Nutrition Services Jamie J. Leavitt; Supervisor of Bilingual & ESL (Grades 6-12) Rebecca Orellana; Supervisors of Special Services Nancy Morales-Frigoletto, José Rodriguez, and Thelusma Cadet; and Principals Maria Labrador (School No. 29) and Arlene Campbell (School No. 30).
