Hello, this is Mayor Bollwage and this is an information update of the COVID-19 virus.
As of today, there are 105 new positive cases in Elizabeth, bringing the total to 466. The State of NJ also has a reported number of 3,686 cases, who have not yet been identified on where they reside.
These numbers are just going to grow larger, as more people are getting tested. You can find out more about the procedures in place for the Union County testing center at Kean University on our website, social media or the County of Union’s website.
The only way to beat this is to continue to stay home and practice social distancing.
Again, I repeat this is not a joke and you are not immune to this virus.
Our Public Works Department are posting signs throughout the parks and businesses to reiterate this 6-foot separation among others.
The more you follow the rules put in place, the sooner we can overcome this virus and get back to normal.
