The Elizabeth High School Jazz Ensemble finished in third place at the 2020 New Jersey State Prelim Jazz Festival at Bridgewater-Raritan High School. The Elizabeth Jazz Ensemble, with a total score of 266.00, finished third among 13 participants in Division 1. Elizabeth High School senior James Bally (piano) was recognized with an Outstanding Soloist Award and the jazz ensemble received awards for their trombone and rhythm sections.
