Union County Commissioners Donate School Supplies to Support District Students

Union County Commissioners Sergio Granados and Lourdes Leon visited Elizabeth Public Schools on September 8 to donate school supplies to support district students. The county commissioners were welcomed at the James P. Mitchell Building by Elizabeth Board of Education Vice President Iliana Chevres and Board Member Diana Barbosa as well as Elizabeth Public Schools Superintendent Olga Hugelmeyer, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning Dr. Jennifer Cedeño, and Director of Special Services Diana Pinto-Gomez. Various supplies were donated by the commissioners, including notebooks, folders, binders, pens, pencils, highlighters and personal protection items such as hand sanitizer, sanitizer wipes, and face masks. Elizabeth Public Schools and the Elizabeth Board of Education thank the Union County Board of County Commissioners for their very generous donation and continued support of Elizabeth’s students, families, and residents.
