AHPA Student achieved Eagle Scout Rank - Martin Szypulski
Martin Szypulski, a senior at Alexander Hamilton Preparatory Academy, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout by Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Patriot's Path Council in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey on December 28, 2017.
Szypulski has been a BSA member since he was 12 years old as part of Boy Scout Troop 145 in Clark, New Jersey. He has earned 36 merit badges, held several leadership positions in his troop, and currently holds boatswain position (crew leader) as a member of BSA Sea Scout Ship 228 in Linden, New Jersey.
Eagle Scout is the highest rank that can be achieved by youth members of Boy Scouts of America, which is only achieved by about 4% of all scouts nationally.
As part of the Eagle Scout requirement, Szypulski completed a major community service project by designing and executing new landscaping around the Clark Fire Department Headquarters at 250 Broadway in Clark and restoring an antique fire hose cart.
The achievement is a great source of pride for Szypulski’s family, as he is a first generation American with both of his parents emigrating to the United States over 25 years ago.
Martin will be recognized at an Eagle Court of Honor Ceremony for his tremendous achievements.
