The annual Junior Seminar event was held this past Saturday, April 8th at John E. Dwyer Academy which was open to all 11th grade students in the district. This is an event that began 7 years ago in order to make sure all 11th high school students in our district receive access to college representatives and experts in post-secondary preparation. Junior year is the most important year of high school and by attending this event, students left knowing “exactly” what is needed for the college process. This event is different than a college fair in the sense that presenters are given a classroom from 8am-12pm to provide students with an in depth 35-40 minute presentation on their college/university/military branch, etc. A total of 22 workshops were offered, where students selected the 5 that best fit their needs/interests.
