In Class Support (I.C.S.)
In-Class Support (ICS) is a collaborative model where a general education teacher and a special education teacher work together in the same classroom to support students with disabilities. Students remain fully included with their peers while receiving the individualized help outlined in their IEPs.
The special education teacher provides targeted instruction, adapts materials, and offers small-group or one-to-one support as needed. Both teachers plan and teach together so students can access grade-level content with the right level of scaffolding.
ICS promotes inclusion and student success by ensuring that all learners receive meaningful, specialized support within the least restrictive environment.
