The primary goal of the Elizabeth School District is to educate students to become successful citizens. To this end, academics are stressed and we work to make sure that all students graduating from our schools are equipped with the knowledge and skills they will need to become active and productive members of society. In addition, we understand the importance of developing the whole child and this district is known for its outstanding programs in the visual and performing arts, in vocational and technical education, and in athletics. Programs are also available to meet the special needs of individual students.  In Elizabeth, we believe that providing our teachers with opportunities for professional growth is an important element in improving overall student achievement. The newly created Division of Staff Development, Best Practices, and Innovative Programs is supporting our efforts in this area by helping teachers identify and master various instructional strategies and programs designed to get all students involved in the learning process.  Despite a steadily growing student population, everything is done to keep class size as low as possible.
